  Erm... no. If there is a Moderator in this forum, please let us know who that esteemed person is. A Forum Moderator is a poster clearly identified as such, and there is no one here answering that description.

  A Moderator is not some anonymous person in the background, deleting (in response to complaints) whole threads and lots of posts, many of them legitimate and carefully crafted by forum participants. A Moderator is a person who actively engages forum users and answers their queries regarding the forums operation.

  (As to those complaints, the Report Abuse link appears to be broken. After you submit a report using the link, a Resource Not Found error message pops up. I've also never received any feedback after submitting a complaint that way, and haven't seen such complaints acted upon. It seems much better just to send an email to at members@worldgolftour.com, where folks, although anonymous, are usually quick to reply.)

  Also, among the typical duties of a Forum Moderator is moving/splitting/merging threads, and renaming misleadingly titled threads, which never, ever happens here. So, I'm sorry, but these forums aren't truly moderated.

  To this, add the many severe forum functionality bugs, such as the missing Quote and Preview buttons when composing replies, and dysfunctional email notifications. All in all, these forums are in a sorry, deplorable state. (To WGT's questionable comfort, TWO forums are in an even worse state than the WGT forums, but TWO do at least employ dedicated forum moderators clearly identified as such.)

  Thanks for the feedback. We've always taken a more hands-off approach in the forums, preferring to let our players engage each other in lively discourse. That said, we are looking into ways to provide more moderation in terms of removing flame wars quicker and merging/moving threads regularly. Thanks for your patience as we adjust to the higher volume of posts, and we appreciate everyone's help by not engaging in flame wars and by reporting abusive posts to us.

  Thank you for demonstrating that splitting threads is possible in this software, WGTalex. There are some bugs in the process: the title at the top of this webpage still says Main Menu Music from the original thread, instead of Moderation. (And my previous post on this issue remained in the old music thread, instead of being moved here as well; if it had been moved, your post in the other thread wouldn't have been necessary.)

  Anyway, this is a hopeful sign.
