I am a level 45 tour pro. I am still using starter clubs and am ready to upgrade. I think I have narrowed my choice between the Rapture driver and irons (slow meter speed on both) or the R9 TP 9.5 driver and G10 irons L35+ (fast meter speed on both). Advice and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you like the slow meter get the Raptures.

If I were you are I would get the G10s. Better precision, carry further and spin.

For the driver it would be a toss up between the R9 L40+ and the R11 L29+. The R11 is only 3 yrds shorter but the precision and forgiveness are much better than the R9. Plus I would bet you get more carry (in the air with full bs) with the R11 for cutting corners or carrying traps, etc.

Sad to see you are in the middle of the levels (47). Once you start buying clubs and leveling up you'll always want the next best thing. And it sucks because the next best thing is always worth it!

    Good luck

Oh how true this is. I stuck with the Raptures for a while but got the G10 and then i15 irons as soon as I could, each upgrade was a big improvement.

And the new TM Burner 2 are only about 1.5 levels away.

I've been holding off on buying the TM burner 2s. I have a gut feeling there's going to be another iron out in the next couple of months. Possibly a set that might match some new wedges that came out recently?

There's always something new to tempt me. I bought the i15's the day before the update and the Burner 2 appeared : (     I thought there may have been something new in yesterdays update.

To the OP, Raptures are a great way to get your average down. You may struggle a bit with the meter when you later go for a high flight iron but your wedges will be around the same speed so it shouldn't be too much of a shock.  The L48 Raptures will get you to master tier no bother, maybe even further but you'll struggle to shoot very low scores with them.  They're also pretty expensive so if you can bear it,  wait until you can get the top set.

Thanks for the additional info. I just rented the G10's about an hour ago to try out. So far they seem excellent. However, I am only comparing them to my starters. Remember, I only own starter clubs right now. Are you saying don't purchase anything right now and just stay with the starters until I can get something even better than the G10s and Raptures?

I meant get the level 48 Raptures, only a level or so to go so wouldn't be long. They'll be the easiest way for you to hit good scores right now. I assume you rented the lower level G10's? I wouldn't buy anything that isn't the top set in a range, you'll only end up getting the better ones later.

My bad. The G10s I rented are the level 35+

If the Level 48 Raptors are the highest ones available I would get those until you can get either the highest G10s or new TMs. I used the highest Raptors for almost a year and liked them a lot. I like the G10s better but the Raptors are still good clubs.
