I have had this a few times in MPCs on different courses, but I will report the one I just had.

9 hole MPC on Royal Saint George (front 9).

I was 2 up playing the 7th. Opponent wins hole (so I am now 1up with 2 to play).

8th hole loads for opponents drive - DORMIE message appears.

This has happened on BPB too, I seem to remember, and I think it was the same scenario as above

Sean, the Dormie message was for your opponent. Its a warning to them that they have to win that hole, or at least half the hole, or they lose the game.

The message should still not have appeared.

Dormie is when one player is up with the same amount of holes remaining.

I/e 3 up, 3 to play, 1 up, one to play, etc.

1 up and 2 to play is not Dormie.

Cheers MB, i thought it was appearing because if sean had won the next hole, game over.

It pays to read the whole message - well actually there is no pay for it. Now stand at the back of the class

What Sean is talking about is the dormie message when it isn't dormie. It usually shows up when you're 1 and 2 or draw even at 8  and go to 9 AS. It will show dormie when it actually isn't. I just ignore it but there is a bug there sometimes.

I seen those too, usually 1 hole ahead and when someone just lost a hole before. I think it's some issue in the logic. I have mentioned it before and we looked but can't pin point it right now.

I will try to bring it up again but like scorecard bug, this isn't really mischievous and can take alot of hours to track, so we will give them another try but right now, some more pressing issues are on  the table

Donning my Software Developers cap, is it by any chance checking the 'should the Dormie message be displayed' bit of code  before crediting the opponent with the win on the hole?

Software Developing wasn't my first career choice you know - when I was younger I wanted to be a Refuse Collector cos I thought they only worked Mondays (<-- Insert the day your bins are collected here)
