Yes, that is supposed to emulate the laws of physics and the flop shot in real life.
When aiming for a flop shot, you should always aim several feet left from target.

yup the flop shot always goes right off the clubface except when it is a bad lie...almost have that shot perfected from 40 yrds in..like fatty said you wanna aim a good bit left depending on the way the green is running.
Newsflash on the flop. I've known this for as long as I've played and it's empirical-the triangle is exactly lined up with the first white line to the left of perfect. Treat that line as perfect and you can aim normally.
