  I've played St Andrews hundreds of times yet no matter what adjustment I make I'm actually getting worse instead of better and its really beyond the point of pissing me off! Now I'm bogeying and double bogeying holes I used to routinely birdie and par. To say that the game is becoming less fun by the second is an understatement!  

  How do you fix your game when adjustments you know are the right ones are producing negative results anyway??

  i really hate to say this but your clubs and ball dont have good or accurate attributes.so making adjustments to your memorised shots dont really help much. getting more precise clubs will definately help your cause here especially the mental anguish - which we have all been through.

  Your running on low power, try a new driver! That and a new wood, putter and better balls should get you going!

  Looking at your stats your game is progressively getting better.  Your scores are consistent.  I see two issues:

  1. Every time you play a course in Stroke Play the course conditions are slightly different.  Knowing the course helps immensely.  This allows you to shape your shots and adjust for wind.  Knowing how your ball reacts in the wind, how the wind effects the trajectory and roll of the ball, as well as knowing your clubs helps along the way.  On St A, with the starter balls, the wind will push your ball when putting.

  2. At a minimum you need to upgrade your clubs and/or balls.  Start with better ball that gives you more control i.e. shot-shaping ability.  Then a driver, putter, irons, etcetera.

  It's not WGT even though you blame the game.  It's the player.  This is one game where practice and course knowledge are a huge benefit.
