Ok, I know this is my fault for not being as attentive as I should be.  BUT...(lol) I keep getting screwed up with the yardage default for putts originating in the "Fringe" being set at 150 yards.  Too many times have I lined up the curve and distance for a putt only to realize that I didn't change the default setting.  So, instead of a 5-foot putt, I end up making a 60-foot putt !!  Every other shot in a round has a default setting of the approximate yardage to the hole, why does the "fringe" setting have to be so different?  I think this game/site is pretty awesome, just making a suggestion.

You surely have a routine to see where the ball is - FW, rough... It's visible when the shot comes to a rest.

Green and fringe are different surfaces - just observe it and take necessary action.

I for one choose "Flop" quite frequently on the fringe!

When I hit my shot from the Fringe I think of it this way - The old school method 'Look both ways before crossing'
    1) check and set club type and distance
    2) ajust shot details- left or right and speed
    3) set power and check one more time club type and distance

PS:  if you have no limit on time do a couple dry runs on hitting the ding from your power setting

Because you have shot choices from the fringe that you don't on the green. Chips and pitches work extremely well from the fringe and the game doesn't know what to use. IDK that that's the actual reason but it's a way of checking.  :-)
