As much as I enjoy this game, as an avid golfer, the frustration level is reaching explosive proportions.  I have already posted about my internet latency issues, which certainly do not help the situation.  I have swing meter problems that would be hysterically funny of not so annoying.  Not much on drives or iron shots, some issues, but not insurmountable.  On the green??? Forget it.  I have calculated that in the past two days I have missed more than 40 birdie puts, four eagle putts and a handfull of par putts due to a stuttering swing meter, a stalled swing meter, a swing meter that fails to respond when you click to stop your swing and continues well past the mark.  It isn't me, it is definitely the meter.  Just watching the thing jerk its way towards the line is stressful.  While I realize this is most likely due to my latency issues, it ruins the pleasure of the game for me.  If anyone has any other suggestions tht might help, I am happy to listen and try them.   I love the game, but when the result is influenced more by glitches than by skill, it kills enthusiasm.

I see you bought the Redwood putter yesterday, one assumes it has a faster meter speed than your previous putter? Not saying there is, but wonder if there is any connection to your problem?

Actually I bought it about 2 hours ago and have only practiced with it.  I was using the Spyder before and just thought I would try a different one to see if there was a difference.  There isn't.  I have had the odd day when the meter worked reasonably, 9 birdies and 8 under one day with the Spyder, but virtually any other day it is a shambles.  It is a sight to see the way the meter behaves so eratically on putts. I can't seem to see any solution to it.   It has been going on since I joined.

Do the dots disappear on the green when you take your swing? There's an option to make this happen in the game settings. Also, I saw you were on a laptop from your other thread and am wondering if you started playing here straight away or did you do some prudent PC maintenance first? There's a lot of little things that by themselves don't cause much aggravation but several of these little things working together could cause problems-things like the browser you're using, what's running in the background, anti-virus activity, etc.

If you haven't seen this take a look.

I have Game Booster and Leatrix Latency Fix installed and I have very few meter issues.

As YJ says though, it could be down to basic system maintenance. I regularly run a registry cleaner and defragger and don't forget to clear your browser cache now and then, it's apparently important after you buy new gear.

Same as clearing your flash cache, you can click here to do that.  Click on delete all sites and it'll clear itself. The game will take a little longer to load the first time you play after doing it but it supposedly helps a lot.

Maybe I'm just lucky but the fact it works fine for me suggests it's not a problem with the game.

I keep my laptop well maintained and run programs regularly that clean the cache and get rid of performance reducing issues and it has 4gigs of RAM and a 4 gig processor, so I knew it had the capacity  .  But, I did solve the problem it seems.  It is one of those 'hit yourself over the head' moments for not thinking of it right off. I always used my laptop on battery power, until the battery decided it wouldn't last for more than 5 minutes.  Last night I went in to my power settings and, sure as hell, it was still set at 'power saver' which only gives about 1/3 performance.  Changed it to high performance and so far so good.  I do appreciate the response and thank you.

I also have leatrix latency fix installed, but that did not help until I rest the performance issues.
