Need Advice I'm Questioning if I should Get New Irons Now That I'm L - 97

Callaway Steelhead XR Iron Set L - 97

    Or Should I Wait To Get Callaway Apex Irons,When I'm At L - 100,

Are The L -100 That Much Better.  I'm Retired So I work hard getting credits and L - 100 is 750,000 xp away.

    Thanks.

L100 is a long time away.   The 97's are plenty good, but the 100's are better.

Virtually all the top players use a variant of the L 100's.

Myself, I found I couldn't wait until L100 and so I bought both and still have them.

edit: then again using the starter ball won't really unlock either's potential.

When I get there I'm going for the LV-97 irons. I just don't see that big of a difference between the two. I like the slower meter speed of the 97's.

one thing you'll struggle with at first if you've owned the L85 Steelheads is the distance differences but it doesn't take long to reconfigure, they are a great buy and stop a starter ball very quickly on full backspin

It depends on How much you play and who and what level you want to play at.

If you just play the occasional CC tourney and a few matches with slightly better players, I would wait for the level 100 irons.

Now I switched from Level 81 Ping irons to the 97 level Callies.  I'm finding the green much easier.  I'm in a level 20 CC. with 50 Champion level players.

So..If you play everyday and want to compete at all levels.  Get these irons.

I have never had the L97 irons but I love my L100 Cally irons. But if you are retired you might find the slower meter of the L97 irons more to your liking. The distances are the same only the precision and forgiveness are better with the L100 irons but that can be big.

Only time it really makes a difference with the level 100 Apex is in a CTTH when it really matters. The slower meter of the level 97 is nice and easier to hit but the accuracy and forgiveness of the level 100 more than makes up for that. Get the 97 now and when you get to 100 there will be a new latest and greatest level 101 set just out of reach :-).
