Hi guys.  I've got a question I'd like to ask you.

When a ball has for argument sake, 3 extra dots for distance, this obviously means the ball will travel further off the club face I get that.  But does this recalculate the change in distance for each club when your on the course or do you then need to work out how much further your hitting the ball?

Your "stated" yardage per club remains the same, but yardage for each club will change somewhat, depending on ball used and spin used.

I'd suggest when you first upgrade to new/good balls, use no spin at all and get a feel for them, then add a little BS/TS and see the difference.

I'd suggest Kaiwah in low winds in practice rounds, since winds will be in the 1-5mph range.

3 extra dots mean up to 30yard extra distance 3 extra dots spin 3ft backspin

I'd have said about 6 to 9 yards.

English avatars?  They'd be holding a cup of tea in one hand?  Then I want an avartar that holds a cup of coffee in one hand.

Mocha, there's more to be said about the English avatar - public school tradition and so on. Let's just say it affects the stance. But I won't go there. I will not go there. Ain't gonna do it.

Concerning the original post, the extra distance is way more noticeable on the longer clubs, especially the driver. Controlling for other factors, a ball with 3-4 dots of distance struck by a driver rated at 282 yards will regularly go over 300 yards, maybe 310.
