It has a very strong slope. You really need to hit a wedge with full bs to hope it stop it.

best wedges can even spin it back:)

I think his problem is the ball is stopping on the approach shot.  Maybe a little less b/s on the Clevelands?  I haven't had mine long and am still getting used to the spin.

Oakmont is a real love/hate course, I just played the front 9 twice back to back. Once tourney greens, once very fast. Got a 29 and a 35, the good score being with tourney greens, go figure that one.

Icon's right. There really are two ways to play the approach on 12.One is to do what Icon said and that is to use a high spinning wedge(cleveland) and you can actually throw is past the hole 3-4 yrds and still spin it back against the severe downslope. The other is a little more of a tougher touch shot, and that is to use alot less spin and hit left of the pin short so it will roll down and to the right towards the pin,be prepared though for a good amount of roll. The reason you are stopping it on the downslope is due to spin and not hitting it far enough to the pin for the spin to actually save you from goin down towards the fringe.Dont be afraid to hit it passed the pin if you are using full backspinHope this helps.

TBH this hole has never bothered me at all i mean even from 107 out u can hit a clevland 100 wedge full TS and it will still sit unless strong tail wind, but mrenns advice is sound if u struggle to stop the ball try landing a couple of yards left of pin and let it roll in, and make sure u dont click late
