I use the Taylormade TP5X L-81 ball and noticed the ball is not lasting as long. I counted my hits(Excluding Putts) and I am only getting 131 and 134 hits off my ball.

It seems We should be getting at least 170 hits per ball. A lot of other players are noticing also.

    The TP5X has a 2.5 durability rating

I haven't seen any difference with the durability of that ball. But I wouldn't expect to get 170 hits from a ball with 2.5 durability. The number of hits you're getting is about what I would expect.

As reported in previous threads on durability, generally, balls with 2.5 durability get around 125 hits. I've only see one ball in which it was stated that it got as many as 150 but never 170 hits.

Ok, I thought it was 170. Just seems like they are not lasting as long.

One member is using Titleist and he noticed it also.

    Thank You

    No problem.

When they were first introduced, some players noted a couple of issues with the TM Level 81s. But, for me, they now play very similarly to the Nikes. Maybe WGT tweaked them a bit because I didn't purchase them when right away. I was trying out the Titleists

A friend and I played the 81 TM's when they first came out and they were playing kind of strange. Maybe the fix came in that hour long shutdown the other night.

As far as durability goes I didn't notice any difference in that respect.

I'll stick with my 34 Callies.

Mind you that strokes on balls are counted excluding the putts - might explain the differences...

But he noted that he was excluding putts.

Yes, I was excluding putts. I play a lot, and when I have to buy a second pack of balls, I notice.

Most balls last between 90 to 120 hits (excluding putts) as per measurements in the past - I have never played with a ball that exceeds those figures.

Did you wave a Harry Potter spell over the balls?....if so, can you pass it on please.

I must have, it's been consistent at 131-134.

Maybe it's the ball effects I don't use. Lol
