It sounds like you were in a zoom mode. For whatever reason, sometimes when you switch holes the view goes to a camera view where what you described is what you see. Clicking on the back arrow in the lower right of the screen should get you back to the tee.

Maybe your screen saw a female screen with nothing on it ?

I had something similar a while back, the view wasn't enlarged but across the top of the screen was a stripe (the same size and shape as the advertising banner on the scoreboard screen) and the course view was pushed downwards so the club / meter etc were not visible.

I think pressing the space bar took me to the normal zoom view and pressing it again took me back to the main view without the banner.

Maybe Flash player getting a bit messed up trying to show the pop up advertising on the wrong screen ?

That was my thought as well. It's not hard to accidentally hit the right click button and zoom in. I did that a lot  before I cleared everything off my desktop except for my External hard drive power supply which sits so far back that the mouse cant touch it.

I've found that it happens when you're watching an op's shot and you change the view while they're setting up. If their shot happens before your zoom loads then you get the zoom you requested on the next hole.
