So, after many years of experience here, I have come to a conclusion. The math used by the programmers here is the same new math they are teaching our kids today. An example................ old math 3x5=15. Thats all you needed to know.
Today's math 3x5= you can take three items, line them up into 5 rows, count the number of items you have, then readjust it to 5 items in 3 rows. If they are equal amounts, then the answer must be correct, assuming the items were of the same origin.
And it's no wonder out kids have fallen behind the world and become math illetirates. These are the methods used here when calculating distance and wind speed, and then your shot goes to a Star Trek location, where no man has gone before. Mr. Spock is rolling in his grave right now. If GPS programming was like it is here, you would set a destination for New York and end up in Latvia.
