A week or so ago I bought the Ping G10 steel Iron set.  What I have noticed it that when I hit say 160 yds out...and go full even with light or heavy winds, my ball only carries about 115 yds or thereabouts.  That has happened several times....

Several people I have played with says something very wrong.  Can't figure out if its WGT or my comp.  Otherwise my game is pretty good with my driver, putter and all my wedges.. Never have comp problems so I really don't understand.

Has anyone had this problem before?  If so, what can I do?  Help!!!!

    Thank you!

Ok there are 2 things to consider.

#1 any time you buy new clubs you should consider emptying your cache as there might be data from your old clubs corrupting the data for your new clubs.

#2 the G10's have a higher trajectory than your previous clubs had so winds will affect the distance the ball travels a little more. And with the Callaway s ball that you are playing if you use full backspin you will get even less distance.

The clubs have plenty of height..you can use the z balls just fine (less unexpected short shots). Be careful of any shot with your maximum back-spun shorter irons into the wind. The wind will shorten the shot and if you miss-hit it it can really come up short. Use spin sparingly, use it only when you think you have too and use less when you do. Learn how to play a running approach, especially punch shots. It will really come in handy as your game improves.

Great advice from Danohi. You would really do well by not using that spin Callaway and learning those irons with something like a GI-SD. That way, once you learn them, you will appreciate what the better ball can do. At the Pro level you don't need that as much as you will in the higher levels but using it now is not a bad thing. Just go easy on the spin.  GL

A 160 club should carry about 150 and roll to 160, with backspin on that would be maybe 145 to 150. Into a wind that obviously comes down but not to 115.

I would guess Borntobesting is right that something got messed up in your cache, you can clear it here (select Delete All Sites).

    Thanks all....

If you go to "forums"  click on, "announcements and news" then click on "Reporting bugs and errors" (by WGTicon) it gives alot of information as to why players are having some connection issues etc.  It's valuable....

I don't have google chrome but in Explorer I always go up to "tools" and delete my cookies and browing history.  That's pretty much what they say to do.  Let's see again if that works on those Iron shots that should at least go where they should and NOT 30-40 ft short.

You should. It's free, easy to install and the game plays great on it. If anything, just use it for this. Firefox and Comodo Dragon also handle the game well. Anything but Explorer.
