it would be nice when someone gets called away to the phone, door etc that his opponent can stop the countdown clock for up to a minute for him as a sign of goodwill and as a friendly gesture as its unfair to recieve a warning or shot penalty for unforseen incidents. those with kids will know what i mean.

    yes...."it would be nice".

Of course, on the other hand, "it would be nice" if people were single, didn't have friends, didn't have people calling or didn't have kids so that WGT wouldn't have to add a "stop clock" function.

    OR....

don't answer the door to unexpected guests...take the phone off the hook...give the kids some children's tylenol...problem solved.

a well thought proposel.  the need to find a tree!!,   lol,   i am not able to move quickly so when anything at all takes place as you mentioned it is a real hassel to leave the game with published regrets, and disconnect properly, only to find out the doorbell was the UPS driver, and the loud noise i heard in the other part of the house was one of the cats knocking something off of the mantel, whatever.  all of those things that must be attended to at the time they take place,  when you are alone .  i like the pause idea very much.  i also will not join a group that doesn't have the 90 second clock.  of course you can disregard the game for 269 seconds, on the 90second clock, before you are disqualified, but that is also rude to the other players.  a pause in play at the players command for 1 or 2 times a 9 hole round might lend itself to alieviateing some of the rampent QUITTING that now takes place.

      my nickel.

While the game is paused for a 60 second relief period can we please have sporadic glimpses of David Hasselhoff  parading that beech in Bay watch ,
