I've only been a member for about a week- I think I'm like a level 28.  My question- I entered a 18 hole tournament (St. Andrews), and shot par, which I thought was pretty good.  I looked at the results and almost everyone in the tournement is above level 50.  I thought I read that you would play golfers approx. my level.  Can someone explain how this all works?  Thanks a lot.

    Pete

The numbered levels simply reflect how much you have played - the more you play the higher your level will become.

The named 'tiers' reflect your skill level. You are currently at the amatuer tier, so you will play against other amatuers, and these other players should be, broadly, the same skill level as you.

I just looked at the tournament, and it was a ready-go tournament open to all tiers, and that means anyone could play. There are no tier specific ready go tournaments until you get to the pro tier, and once you do you then you will be able to play against only people in the same tier as you.
