The G10 irons:
So... the PW and 9 iron are strong. No wind with full backspin, they will go farther than hit. In other words, a 3MPH wind any direction, if you hit the G10 PW 100% with full BS, you will go more than the listed 115. Same with the 9 Iron and 130. As an example, earlier I had fairway, 101 yards, 3 MPH crosswind. I hit 90% of a PW, which should be 103.5y. It went 107. The 8 Iron is pretty accurate distance wise. But now... the 7 Iron lists at 160. It will only go 160 in a strong tail wind, or with no backspin. A 7 MPH crosswind, full backspin, no elevation, the club goes about 146-148. Add elevation or headwind and it's lack of length is even more pronounced. The 6 Iron list at 175. This is also a shorter club than listed. It isn't as bad as the 7 Iron, but still. For most shots in low winds, I hit an extra 5 yards with full backspin. With the 6 Iron, I need to hit an extra 8 yards. With the 7 Iron, and extra 10-12 yards. Once you get below the 6 Iron, things seem to go back to normal. The 5 seems to be true to 190, the 4 to 200, and the 3 to 210. But those higher irons are inconsistent until you learn their foibles.
In addition, the 7 and 6 are more difficult to stop than the other irons.
