In the monthly open where it costs 500 credits to enter, the first prize is 20,000, 2nd is 17500, 3rd is 15000.  This is total prize money of 52500 credits.  At present there's only 11 people who've enterd (and judging by the three top scores, doubt anyone else will enter).

This gives a entry fee of 5,500 for WGT.  You don't need to be much of a mathematician to work out the amount of loss WGT is making here (if you call virtual money a loss LOL). But its not good business for wgt when we pay $5 to enter, but are able to spend $550 of products from WGT, when WGT have only made $55 from entry fee's.

Those credits don't cost WGT any real money or loss. It's not like you can turn those credits into cash. They are not buying the clubs, balls, etc.. from a vendor. It's all virtual. Until you get into the Elite Collection anyway. I wouldn't doubt the equipment companies pay WGT to use their brand name on this site!

I doubt you have to worry about WGT losing credits on anything.  I spend an average of 300 credits a day on balls. Actually I spent 1200 in the last 3 days. Start adding those credits up for every member that buys balls.

I'm sure they will make it up if that is the case, as Dar said it is only virtual money and that money has to be spent on their site so the end result is nothing to them.

Has WGT said they would not pay this out or did you just assume that.  You might want to ask one of the moderators before jumping to this conclusion.  My dealing with WGT has always been nothing but fair.
