And it flies 20 yards OVER the green into the fescue for a double bogey on a Par 5 when I was sitting -3 under par! I ended up finishing the round at 75!
But I'm told that the game ISN'T set up for a player to fail and its just my ability? Gimme a break
This doesnt make sense to me.. please clarify...
Are you saying that you choose a 150yrd 6 iron, for a 175 yrd shot INTO a 19 mph wind and it FLEW the green ( which I take that as Carried in air) an addition 20 yrds for 195 yds ?
Im sorry, that just doesnt sound right on any level. First I would have chosen a 190 club and used backspin if I had a 175 shot into 19mph wind.
There are deviations in the game for all clubs, and even more so with
starter irons, but Ive never heard of one happening as you described it
in opening post.
Know Im not trying to give you a hard time, I want to help, just trying to fully understand what happend.
So let me make a supposition you meant this....First, Id guess this happened on St Andrews had a 155 yrd in 19 mph wind and used no spin planing to land it early on the green allowing it to roll up to pin. ( not a bad plan with your clubs/balls)
Is this is the case, most likely when your ball landed, it landed on a downslope and squirted forward ( very common on STA greens) and it rolled off the back of green into trouble for 175yrd total distance.
