    Hi All,

Last night I was involved in a VERY close alternate shot match. We were on the last hole and we were AS. Our opponents had gotten themselves into some trouble so my team had a clear advantage and a good chance to win the hole and the match. Then it happened. One of our opponents QUIT! Bear in mind that my partner and I did not forfeit. Now here's the question. On my wall this morning it says that my partner and I were beaten by the other team that quit on us!! How can that happen? Also, is it acceptable to post that sorry ass quitters name here for all to see? And is it acceptable for me to write on his wall what I think of him?

    Thanks

Yeah it was really weird but I quit on an alternate shot match because the opponent got disconnected and I didn't feel like waiting for him to return to his partner and it said that I won the game. This is definitely an issue that needs to be taken care of.

What happened to the 3'rd wheel ?

Did it take you to the lobby ? And with whom ?

Again , the lobby question...if you and your partner left before the lobby time expired , it is possible that one of your opponents returned and snuffed out the win. Someone with more Alt. shot  XP   than I can get you closer to the answer you seek , but , you need to answer a few too before they will be able to diagnose this.

    Umm , no !

Keep your class and your etiquette.

    Thanks for the reply Ace.

    1. The third guy was waiting in the lobby with us. He felt the same as we did.

    2. Yes, it took us to the lobby where we all waited for the guy to rejoin. When it was his shot on the last hole, he just never hit. His time just kept expiring and then it took us back to the lobby where we also waited for him to rejoin. He never did. After a few minutes my screen just went back to the wgt game page and that was it. Then I saw on my wall this morning where we had lost the match.

NOTE: Please understand that winning is not that important to me. But it sure isn't fun spending that much time playing a match only to have some a..h... quit on you. Also, I consider myself a fairly class guy. This is the first time I have ever had any negative comment about anyone on the WGT, but this is simply uncalled for and takes all the fun away from playing. It's something that really needs to be dealt with in some way. So, if you or anyone at WGT needs his name please let me know. Again, thank you very kindly for your reply.

    Kind Regards,

    FearlessAl

I totally agree ...just lack of class and sportsmanship all the way around here...BUT , your description of events begs me to ask 2 final questions that you may consider and like I said , I do not have tons of Alt. shot XP  ,  but ,

#1 :   Who created the game / Lead role ?

#2 :  Did your partner have the forfeit button at his disposal as well ?

Just trying to think of all realms of possibility here outside of some form of glitch occurring.

                                                                                                                               Ace.

Did one of the other players post that?  Where did you see that you lost? Activity doesn't show losses.

Alt shot does funny things, and last night was very bad for Alt shot.

Last game of the night I played there was all kinds of troubles. Not with swing meter more of overall with the alt shot format, never had it happen to me before nor had the other 3. Shows it is players turn to shoot, set the shot, click to grab slider and nothing happens to watch time expire.

More to your if you had a win i.e. lead but shows a loss. Had this happen both ways / down by 2 to see on profile news it was a win, been up by 1to see it on profile news it was a loss. Not sure why it happens or even how often, I do know watching an opponent shank everything left and right to rough does not seem like a win either. Then setting my shot for fairway with a wind pushing right, for shot to go left side with center click farther left from where I aimed, don't feel like they are out playing me either.

I know when I am playing and beating myself versus when I got out played by a smarter player. Sometimes a smarter player has a better game then a good player. To close after all it is only an imaginary game on a course we will probable never get to play with a player we will never meet, in a place where the weather is always 74 degrees. Have fun with it enjoy the banter, and remember one thing about real golf matters here as well, it is what takes place between our ears that has the most effect.

Hope this helps, best wishes, and when all else fails take another swing at it.

Fuzzy will be out on the course smashing his balls and knocking the fuzz off them.

    Ace,

Yes, my partner had the forfeit button at his disposal, but if someone forfeits it always comes up and says that either you or your partner has forfeited the match and vise-versa if an opponent forfeits. This did not happen.

It was in the Activity section of my profile. But guess what? I just looked again and it is not there. However, I went to the quitter in question's profile and it is in his activity section that he and his partner defeated me and my partner. Please understand I am not one of the usual complainers, and it really is no big deal to me whether I win or lose, even though (like most) I try my best all the time. I just really enjoy getting with a good group of guys or gals and having fun here on WGT, while at the same time trying my best on every shot. This is not an issue I am going to beat to death because it's just not that important. But it would be nice if there was some way to deal with these type players so that you would be pretty sure when you start a match you were going to get to play the entire match and not waste 30-45 min. and have it end with a bum like that quitting on the last hole. Thank you very kindly for your reply.

NOTE: I have had really great experiences here on WGT. This is really about the only real negative issue I have encountered, so, all is good. I just wish there was a way to weed these bums out.

    Kind Regards,
