  Just out of interest, what browser are you using? I'm on Maxthon and can't DM any of my friends list. I have to use chrome if i want to DM them.

  I have Microsoft Edge & Internet Explorer ,  Everything is back to normal now , I can send messages to everyone on my friends list ,  I'm still missing a lot of people who was on my list before, but I am thinking they haven't got the new invite yet .
