    Hello Everyone,

I currently have the Z Satin 54, 60, 64 L38-39. I wanted to know if anyone could give me a comparison between these and the Ping L 40-60 wedges and/or the Z Satin L64's. Any advantages to buying new wedge? I havn't bought anything new in awhile and was just wondering. Thx in advance...Charlie

theres a spreadsheet with the wedges attributes somewhere around the forums - search for it maybe. itll show how accurate they are, how forgiving and also yardages of full and punch shots. its an individual thing going for wedges imo - personally i play the satin 64 wedge to get 50 yards fullshot and 41 yard punch, plus use it for pitching and flops - been using it forever and i find it hard to change to other wedges for this function alone. also use the ping tour 60 wedge for 75y fullshot and 62y punch - easy to use and accurate. finally using the cleveland 56 for 100y full/84 punch - cant use much spin here or itll go off the green. imo the satins for the 64 and ping tour for the rest for accuracy are best - then get clevelands if u wanna see some serious spin.

my best wedge set up...(.estimated  distances without wind influence)

54 deg 105yrd  tour w.. level60 ...punch 87yrd ..cover dist from 85yrd to..108yrd.(strong backspin) with topspin can go to 112yrd

60deg  85yrd  tour w.....level60 ...punch 71yrd..cover dist. from 52yrd to 88yrd (very strong backspin)... with topspin can go to 91yrd

    64deg  50yrd  zsatin.... level39 ...punch 41yrd..cover dist. from 18yrd to 52yrd..(medium backspin)with topspin can go to 55yrd

all 3 wedges has the same  meter speed and also slower than the clevelands ...

they perform the best with callaway z balls...

Until you can get the Clevelands there isn't any point changing what you have.  In fact, I'd think about keeping the Satin 64° as the CG is harder to judge, at least unless you really put in some time and practice from all sorts of lies.  With the Satin I could be pretty sure a 50% shot went around 50% distance, the CG doesn't and can be frustrating at times.

I have to agree about waiting until you the get the higher level  Cleveland wedges. However I disagree about the Cleveland 64 degree. It may take a little longer to master than the others but it is awesome around the green. I did keep the satin 64 degree to use as my 5th wedge during CTTH rounds.

The CG64 definitely is worth the practice but the Satin64 is so easy to use and plenty accurate that you will never go wrong keeping it.
