    Hello,

Looking for someone to give me some advice/guidance on what club purchases to make at what levels. I was following "The Frugal Player's WGT Club Upgrade Approach" however the Proshop has since removed a bunch of clubs mentioned in that Guide.

Has there been an updated post to that guide that I'm unaware of? or can someone give me some new advice based on whats in the Proshop currently.

ATM I am level 28, still using starter clubs but looking to plan my purchases moving forward.

Any help would be greatly appreciated for this noobie! :)

It might be best to wait until you are at a much higher level and tier before you buy anything except balls. Buy clubs this early and you will be buying new clubs again in a few short months. Wait until master tier and or mid 50' level.

Waiting might also give you better options when WGT brings out new clubs to replace the ones that were removed from the pro shop,

With the approch you were using this is very good advice, There are alot of lower priced balls that will help players. But if you must consider a purchase I would recomend getting wedges to replace the starter ones, these 2 clubs or even only 1 of them will make the sand so much less trouble.

This is good advice.  You can get in a frenzy trying to upgrade clubs early and often!

To help plan, I would recommend using ScottHope's Pro Shop Equipment Tables to see everything in the Pro Shop and see everything about every club or ball in the shop.  Look for the best bang for the buck/credit at upcoming levels and wait on them - rent them free when you level up and then get them at a discount after rental.

If you play on mobile or can access mobile... you can use coins to rent coin rental sets that can help delay club purchases... i rented the green and then blue set while building up credits watching the 2 credit videos for purchases of clubs mostly in the the 51 level n beyond.  I did pick up a couple wedges on my way as they were a good deal with discount.

If you plan it out you can get clubs that will last you into legend tees.  If you are low on coins, you may need to see if you can build those up a bit as well in coin games.

Beyond that specific recommendations depend on you... do you need slower meter or can you play faster meter speeds?  Are you putting money into game or building credits up thru videos... are u playing for fun with friends or trying to invest time and effort to get competitive... the game can be enjoyed in many ways or become an obsession.. just ask a few that have been around for 6, 7, 8 years...

No matter what try to have fun.. dont rush yourself, it gets harder as you keep moving back on tees.

Thanks for the advice guys, I do appreciate it.

My plan was to wait until lvl 48 to buy the R1 Driver anyways, however with that being removed what was my next best option was my main concern.

Answering your question, I dont mind the faster meter speeds, I may put some money into the game but do plan on using videos etc. Playing just for fun, no intentions to get competitive etc. Something I enjoy to play in my free time, without realizing until recently how much thought process and planning is needed!

I think im going to wait and see what WGT adds to the proshop, hopefully I will be of level requirement at that time to make a purchase. Until then Starter Clubs it is!

If you can work the coin rental sets until L59, like I did... the L59 Ping set is a pretty good value for all the clubs you get and they are good sticks.

You can sell the hybrid back and compliment this set with 2 or 3 wedges and you should be able to enjoy the game and not necessarily feel like a hack...

If you boost those clubs with sponsor gear on the mobile platform, they will play even better.  Those features are not available in WGT tournaments though, so beware of changes to how your clubs would perform...  But I don't think you would regret saving up for them which should be manageable in the next 31 levels... how long will that take?....  roughly 80K XP or so...

    That's a wise decision.

The only thing I would say to look at are the Cleveland wedges (56, 60, and 64) at around Level 30. While they are pricey, they are absolute game changers. And you won't have to upgrade them until you get to the Clevelands around Levels 78-80.

If you purchase them, you'll love them. I guarantee it! (Seriously, I guarantee it.)

Not to put a damper on the OP's enthusiasm - you can see how XP and levels (up to 200) are related in this post.

It just means you have quite a bit of time to get to levels above 60!  Plan ahead!
