So I have 122 to the pin @ St. Andy # 3 with a 20 MPH wind almost directly at me. What am I supposed to do, ignore it like it isn't there ? I can't so I figure I need at least 5 xtra yards maybe more and  I go with my 130 iron hit it full power no spin and ding it. I would think it shouldn't be too far off, but the ball goes through the wind like it isn't there and travels exactly 130 yards. This makes no sense at all, callways or no callways they don't add that much distance to my 130 iron. Maybe there's something I don't get, but I cant figure how a 130 iron hit into a 20 mph wind can go 130 yards lol. And its not like it took a funny bounce, it flys right past the hole and rolls a few extra feet.  Made the putt at least, but the wind in this game is extremely hard to figure out.

    I feel for ya Golfspieler.

    I played STA this morning. I came up #11 par 3 at 182yds, with a 20mph crosswind from 9 to 3.

I pulled out my trusty 6 iron @ 175 yds, with half B/S, adjusted for crosswind and fired it on the ding. To my surprise, it turned directly to the pin, over the top, and over the cart path to 226yds on the fly. Just short of the water, but still an OB and lost ball. I wish I could by a full set of clubs that carry 50 yds more than rated.

Just saying, winds are random, and not always in the direction that is shows.

I guess one can view it as real golf where wind can suddenly pick up or die down and ruin your shot  . At least when I'm playing high winds I don't feel like in have to birdie every $%*& hole to have a chance as everybody is gonna get screwed by the wind at some point.

p.s. didn't know there was a cart path down there !
