    HI there

OK I know I have been back to playing WGT  for only 2-3 weeks now.  So far I have played 38 ranked rounds and I am at Level 38 Pro.

I am getting very frustrated with the putting. I make my share of mistakes but, the last week or so I am getting a large amount of putts rimming the cup, more than would be normally expected.  I also don't know how other puts have missed by less than an inch.

What I am using right now is  Odyssey O-Works Putter and using the WGT B-ES golf ball, I know things change as you play and trying out new equipment, but this is ridiculous.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Scott

This is a speed issue, you get lip outs when the putt is too fast and the side door to the cup closes. IDK when you turned Pro but the default green speeds change when you change tiers, they get faster. It sounds like you're on faster greens than you're expecting.

I think YJ is right about the speed.  Many putts can and should drop in from the high side of the hole on the ones that break significantly and they won't if the speed is too high.

I don't think the ball will affect your putting - AFAIK they all putt the same.

Also - sometimes it seems like these things come in spurts - today I missed a lot of med-long putts by fractions of an inch on the low side and the high side.  Some days they drop - some days they don't.

And yes, things get harder as you tier up.  I don't remember exactly when green speeds change - but they continue to rise and your tee boxes will start to creep backwards!

@YJ   OK let me make sure I understand this correctly.  If two players are playing the same green with the same conditions, one at Hack level, one at Pro level.  Even though the green speed is the same the pro green speed will be faster?

The green speed is the same for both players in the game BUT it's based on the higher tier. Whereas the Hack and Amateur speeds are stimp 7.9, the Pro stimp is 9.0 and when tiers are mixed, the green speed defaults to the higher tier so the Hack will see faster speeds than they are used to.

    Tier          Green Speed Stimpmetered

    Hack               7.9

    Amateur         7.9

    Pro                  9.0

    Tour Pro         10.0

    Master            10.0

    Tour Master    11.0

    Legend            12.0

    Champ/TC       13.0

True - but why in the world would WGT set it up like this!  I always like to give the lower tier players at least a fair chance and this is quite the opposite!

I know - like other things, that is just the way it is!
