The most frustrating part of this game right now for me is the fact that I can't for the life of me get a ball to stop on the green.  If the pin is on the frontside of the green, I have zero chance of getting my starter wedges to stay close with the default ball.  Now I do have some credits, but I've been saving them.  I guess my question is, is there something I'm missing?  As well as, would picking up a decent wedge give me the spin I need to solve this problem even with the default balls, and is it worth it?  Or should I just keep on dealing with it until I level up more?

    Thanks in advance!

I just sent you the 64 degree cleveland wedge and some better balls. Go into your equipment and add them to your bag.

Play some practice holes and get used to chipping and pitching with full bs and record your yardage.  Also try some flop and punch shots with it.       With Flop shots, either ding the line before the Center (main ding)   or move the arrow to the left a few feet.   Make notes on your results and it will go a long way towards helping you score better.

If you have trouble getting handle on the club, request me as a friend and I'll play a practice round with you.

One comment, looking at your score history, I see you play st andrews and kaiwah  a lot.   Thats fine learning shots, but you dont want to move to master tier ( and longer tees ) until you get a handle on all the courses.

    Goodluck and hit em well

Couple threads to help putting ( I always putt from the reverse view)  , chipping, pitching

    hi

to stop the ball you will need spin balls and clubs. most spin the better. when you check pro shop, keep an eye on the dots, which identify spin among other stats.

Very frustrating game most of time... others can answer your question a bit better, I would say if you can wait a little bit longer and save your credits to get the good clubs and better golf balls that suit you at your level then you should start to do what I did when I first started...wright down on paper every shot you make, what wind conditions, which club you used, how far the ball went and how far away from the hole when it stopped.

The next time you play the hole you can look at your notes and play the shot with a slight difference depending on the conditions and wright in ya notes again what happened etc...... each game plays different, but you get a good idea of what to use and what the ball will do with the equipment that you have at the moment.

Yes the better clubs and balls are very good, but they cost $'s, but you will notice a huge difference in your scores when you do decide to get them.. The more games you play the better you will get...

    Cheers

Dianne, thanks a ton!  I'll work with it, and play the other courses.  I just get to the point where I'm like, I can get this score, and try over and over, failing repeatedly haha.
I'll add you as well, but I have trouble playing multiplayer games sometimes due to terrible internet.  (You'll be waiting forever for me to get through the initial load) But I would love to talk the game while playing some time if I can get through a round without embarassing myself.  I just started playing more seriously, so maybe I'll make improvement.
And thanks to everyone else for the advice as well :)

You're welcome Ricky, those balls sent to you  are inexpensive and will make a big difference in stopping ability of all your clubs.   Kaiwah there is a lot of water ( read=easy to lose balls)    but BethPage is a good place to practice with minimal fear of lost "purchased" balls.
