Hi all, currently Lv60 and want to know if its worth upgrading my trusty 3 wood R11(lv30) for either the G10 lv58 or R9 lv62.

i love the forgiveness of  the lv30 but wondered if i need more distance.

Can you reach the par 5's in 2 shots? If you can then you don't need more distance. If you can't then you do need more distance.

But then you say you love the forgiveness so if your someone who doesn't hit the ding regularly then forgiveness is a good thing.

I had the level 62 R9 for a long time and i highly recommend it

If I were you I would consider upgrading my driver before worrying about the 3 wood. Your WGT pro+ driver is only rated at 245 and your driving average is only 244 with that short of a drive most par 5's wouldn't even be reachable with the best 3 wood in the game.

At level 60 you can get the level 59+ G10 driver which is rated at 270 yards and as you already have the level 59+ g10 irons it would be a better match for your irons. And the added 25 yards per drive would make you approach shots at least 2 clubs shorter. It also has much better precision and forgiveness that the driver you have. Or you could wait until level 62 and get the 275 R9 driver either one would be much better than the WGT pro+.

Maybe i should have mentioned at the start that i plan on holding out for the lv62 R9 driver as it is judged here as pound for pound a better driver than the G10 which on paper matches my irons better - i just wondered if i should upgrade 3 wood too.

Distance wise yes the R9 is better but it can be a pain in the butt with the lack of precision if you don't ding it and even with the slight edge it has in forgiveness. If you can ding the meter or come close to a ding on most shots then the R9 is the way to go. And the R9 though rated only 5 yards more than the G10 gets about 10 more because of it's slightly lower boring trajectory. It also gets slightly more roll than the G10.
