Here is the official policy about quoting from WGTadmin directed to myself and Nivlac, January 21st, 2009:

"...please refrain from personal attacks, including following each other's posts for the purpose of attacking each other and quoting the other person’s remarks. We will delete posts of this nature. We hope you understand, and thanks for your cooperation."

This behavior is becoming far too prevalent in the forums, and it has to be put to an end.  Quoting people and then responding by belittling or attacking the other person is totally unacceptable and is definitely engaging in flame-baiting.  Far too often individual lines are being quoted and then commented on, belittled, and attacked.   The only response that will be received by doing such a thing is an escalation or instigation of hostilities, which by definition is flame-baiting and is strictly prohibited by WGT in the Terms & Conditions  The use of sarcastic little smileys to accompany remarks are also an example of instigation.  This is non-constructive, escalatory behavior and if I see it used, I will report it.

If you wish to use quotes to refer to an original posters question and answer it in a constructive manner, then that's fine.  Quoting sections of another players comments to belittle their opinion is not fine.

I agree. Many posters, however, confuse disagreement with their opinions with a personal attack on one's own person (and vice versa). Just because you disagree with someone, does not mean you are attacking them.

    Thanks for that Tibbets

Etiquette is the cornerstone of this game.  It is simply good sportsmanship to interact with others in a courteous manner.  We do this not only for them or for ourselves, but for the good of the sport.  Consideration for others, regardless of competitiveness, is truly the spirit of golf.,
