In America. Woolworth went belly-up about 15-20 years ago. I presume somebody purchased the name and is trying to make a go off of what was, quickly.

They did go belly up here as did their parent company Woolco but I believe they continue on in rest of the world.

Woolworths Australia was named after the US company F. W. Woolworths but has no relation to it. It is Australia's biggest food chain. It was started in 1924.

They went bust here 2010 after years selling crap that nobody wanted at a price they didn't want to pay...loved the pick and mix sweets though.

    Adsnuts:

Am friggin annoyed at the addition of the Woolworths ad before you start a game!

    GET RID OF IT!!!

I understand advertising has there place to survive in the world of monetry gain, however like religion I DON"T WANT IT RIGHT IN MY FACE!

    This to me is OFFENSIVE!

    Ads...

Firstly, if you're ads nuts you should love it!

Secondly, listen to yourself; you're venting about a friken advert, the type you see for 5 whole minutes on TV.
