Maybe I don't know how, but I would like to be able to use balls I have purchaed when I run out during play instead of having to use a WGT free ball. I should be able to use my own if they are available.

Can't be done. WGT follows the 1 ball rule to a point. If they followed the 1 ball rule to the letter and you ran out of balls you would be DQ'd and not be able to finish the round. Best thing to do is make sure you have enough balls to finish the round and with the new last ball reminder unless you don't have enough credits to buy a sleeve of the type of ball yoy are playing there is no reason to run out. Just go to the pro shop and buy some during the round. I know it's hard during a multi-player game but it can be done.
