I'm not talking about payment options. The various shirts/pants/skirts colours should be freely selectable. In addition to that, there might be paid-for options.

The sound (or its absence) hardly helps. At first, the "your-turn" sound was too distracting, now it's too quiet so I often miss it. You only need to cough slightly to overhear the signal. WGT should let us customize the "your-turn" sound. Plus, you may choose to listen to music while playing, so that you never hear any sound at all. Player names at the edge of the screen don't help to prevent the distractions; when you see "your player" show up in the center of your screen, you automatically reach for the mouse, disregarding whatever may be written at the edge of the screen. These are basic usability issues.

I'm not piling on here, but you can tell when it's your shot, when you see the swing meter in front of you on the screen.

The new outfits are a cool addition to the game, however, there are other anomalies that need addressed in the game as well.

It's a usability issue, as has been explained. A computer user's eyes are naturally first drawn to, and focused on, the center of the computer screen at all times. It doesn't matter what the player's name shown in the top left corner is, or if the swing meter is present at the bottom of the screen or not. As long as you see the picture of a player who is a copy of your own player pop up in the center of your screen, this will distract many players who will reach for their mouse, thinking it's their turn to play.

Finally, no one says new outfits should be the absolute no. 1 top priority for WGT and they should abandon all work on everything else. They have a team of programmers, and fixing the colours of shirts/pants/skirts, at the very least, should be relatively easily manageable without affecting the programmers' work in other areas.

Thanks for the link to the definition of usability... cause we're st... st... stu... dumb. lol.

I guess i find playing the same two courses with the same pin placements and the same laggy meter with the same clubs and balls more of a USABILITY issue than the color of my characters shirt... but that's just me.

I agree clothing choices would enhance the game, but I'd consider it a low priority. The "I don't know when it's my turn" argument just does not hold any water. I consider it a "nice extra" as opposed to a "must have".

The link to the definition could be useful, because "same courses" and "same pin placements" aren't usability issues. They're just lack of additional game features. Further, you definitely don't need to play with "the same clubs and balls": there are many types to choose from. Only the meter lag is a usability issue, and a far more significant one than the colours of apparel.

(I've been playing TWO a lot on the last few days, and I've got to say that game is a lot more robust from the software setup point of view: you don't need to close other applications on the computer in order to play TWO, and meter lag is extremely rare there. TWO has an avatars usability issue, by the way: they don't allow you to upload your own avatars at this point, you only have 3 or 4 default and very similar avatars to choose from, so that when TWO players talk to each other in the chat-box, it looks like one guy talking to himself all the time.)

What about adding left handed golfers in the game?

That has likewise been suggested many times before. The question is, whether the "left-handed golfer" might be classified as a usability issue, or a cosmetic issue. Perhaps it's something in-between the two, whereas the lack of sufficiently identifying apparel, in my view, falls squarely into the "usability issues" category, and it's not a cosmetic item. (Although folks who think it unimportant probably believe it's just a trivial, cosmetic affair.)

I think the site should be thinking outside the square on this one.

How about a selection of say 10 hats for players to wear, each style sold to a corporate sponsor.

$3,000 per hat style per year would be chicken feed to major companies and that would produce $30,000 a year revenue for the site.

I reckon Coca Cola would jump in with both feet.
