  i want a higher lofted 3wood than my rogue. anyone have any thoughts about the difference between the Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero 3 wood (L86) and the Callaway Epic Flash 3 W (L89)?

  You can use the Compare tool in the Pro Shop to compare the two clubs' specs.  The L89 goes 3 yds further and has better spin (1.5), but has a faster meter.

  You can ignore the Forgiveness specs.  All 3 woods basically have zero forgiveness on missed dings despite what the specs say.

  My suggestion would be to rent both during the next free rental weekend and see which one you like better.

  Absolutley! Missed dings with that club that get close to where you want are lucky deviations. :-D

  L86 is ok, but L89 is great (relativity is key here LOL) IMO. I was hesitant to get rid of it to go to the L99. Even if you can't handle the meter, it is still a better club than the L86.

  I use cheaper balls ( 10 credit starters, lvl33 Cally), and find the lvl 86 to be easier to ding with these.  Had a hard time getting close to the ding with the 89. I’m guessing with the slower meter balls the 89 would perform better
