    birdwell:
if you need a flop distance of 15 yards, your aiming at the wrong part of the bunker!

Not really. I have 2 TaylorMade wedges (60 degree & 64 degree) in my bag now; their flop distances are 26 & 15 yards, which covers pretty much every distance you might need for flop shots during a round.

Don't forget when you're hitting out of sand, then for a distance to pin of 10 yards, you might have to hit a 15-yard shot, etc., depending on the lie. (Especially at Kiawah, you need lots of strength to get the ball out of bunkers with a flop shot.)

(still haven't figured out smilies in this forum)

    Here's a tutorial.

The 15 yard flop shot is bittersweet! Great control and with the right ball it stops well..

Let's say you're having a bad day on the course and then the perfect opportunity to flop up on a slight downhill green from 15 yards out. Your secret weapon is ready and then the meter skipped and you hit it 10 feet left but the shot looked great. LOL!
