In this case pulling the pin probably wouldn't have helped. And No he was not ripped off. The ball went into the hole on the fly and bounced out. It happens on here and in real life. My one and only hole -in-one in real life went into the hole on the fly and stayed in the hole. About a week or 2 later my boss did the same thing and his ball bounced out, You never know what will happen when a ball hits the hard plastic or metal of the cup on the fly.
