    Has anyone ever encountered this?

This is what came up by default for me on the tee box of the 3rd hole at Kiawah.  Note the Driver is the club in the golfer's hands, but an 8-iron is selected in the club selection box.

This happened to me on the 17th tee at St. Andrews once about a week ago as well, while I was 5 under on the nine!  I saw a driver in my hands, but when I let the mouse button go to make the shot, the club suddenly changes to a sand wedge, flies about 100 yards, and goes out of bounds by the shed. :-(

I had thought it was user error after that first time, but in the instance above, I noticed it right away, and I hadn't even moused over to the club selection area at all yet.  So there seems to be some sort of strange anomaly that occurs somewhat infrequently.

The key here is, on neither occasion had I even tried to select a different club...the discrepancy between the club selection and the golfer image came up out of sync by default.

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem, and i they might have figured out a cause.

    Thanks,

    Noel

This has happened to me before, but i finally realized it was my own doing.  Although there is still a bug out there that doesn't cause the club you see in your avatars hand to change, but only the one selected to the left side of the screen.  The thing i finally realized is that if you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, you can change clubs using that, without ever going near the "club selection area" with the pointer.  99 times out of 100 when i use this method to change clubs, the club in the avatars hand changes right along with it, but every now and then it doesn't and you end up hitting the wrong club without knowing it.  Lesson learned for me is to always manually change your clubs...and even when doing that sometimes i will think about changing clubs, swing my mouse over the clubs to choose from, change my mind and go back to the meter, but whichever club i hovered over last will show as selected, but the club in the avatars will be the correct club.  So, always check which club you're holding, along with which club shows as selected before hitting and make sure they match.

A few time I have noticed this while on the green......My avatar will be holding a putter but down bottom will show and iron..

Just scroll the mouse wheel til it matches up, haven't had it affect any shots yet

I've encountered this MANY times, and have written a post with lots of reply's last month, its a bug with the caddy.  It usually happens to me with say 160 yard iron, i change to 145 yard iron (i'm holding it) but shot gets taken with the 160 and i fly past pin.

Its even happened on 18th at St. Andrews i was 27 yards from pin, i choose my wedge, scroll past wedge by mistake and land on driver, i change back to wedge, have it in my hand but when it shows the shot being taken,my shot is hit WITH A DRIVER! And you've guessed the consequences of using a driver 27 yards from piun at 18th LOL!  I lost a ball & 444 credits in a challenge match!

    Thanks!

One thing...a lot of other comments in this thread were from people who use the scroll wheel to change clubs; I've never done that, nor in the case of either of the instances above had I even attempted to change clubs.  In both cases, I was on a driver hole, so there was no need to change clubs from the default, which should have been driver on those holes.
