Bud, I've got the clubs and bought them all recently one after the other.

    1.  G10 270 yard is a lovely driver.  The distances are consistent but it gets knocked around by the wind.  Full top spin and she still sails pretty high.  It's easy to hit and I found it very forgiving.

    2.  TM R9 275 yard.  Same swing meter speed as the 270 but just feels a bit more "agricultural".  No real noticable differences in distance except into the wind courtesy of its lower trajectory.  Would still ride tail winds beautifully with full bs.  It's primary advantage over the G10 was in huge cross winds as it didn't get dragged so far off line.

    3.  TM R9 Super 278 yard.  THIS driver was the one worth skipping the R9 275 for and waiting with the G10 in the bag.  This is a beast of a thing in comparison to both the above.  I've found it difficult to ding, but it doesn't matter all that much as it doesn't seem to be hurtful just missing it all the time.  This one's distance difference - despite only a 3 yard rating difference over the R9, is noticable.  Not quite as low a trajectory as the R9, but nowhere near as high as the G10.  A very good compromise between the two taking advantages of both plus extra yardage.  With bs this will fly places you couldn't get to before - even into the wind.

If I had my time all over again, I'd have left the 275 yard R9 in the pro shop whilst sticking to the G10 and waited for the SuperTri R9.

I will say this....use the G10 till you get to lvl 73, then without any indecision, go and buy the lvl 73 R9 SuperTri...it's an amazing club, outdrives R11 in headwind and can easily get you to 300yrds with right use of spin.  Since I have had it, I've not looked back.  One of the best club upgrades I've made.

Remember the key here is this..: "drive for show..,putt/chip for dough"..

Both drivers are great, but given the 5-10 yards here or there in yardage difference, does it really matter?...With a dependable short game, you will overcome any of those driver situations....Practice all of your short game shots over & over for perfection:)..then the same with the putter of choice..

    Good luck,...hit em straight..:)

yes it actually does make a difference...hitting 1 club less makes a massive difference on some holes.
