Anyone enlighten me how you judge a 30-40% lie? Do you add 30-40% to the length of the shot? Take 30-40% off the max club range? It's confusing! Thanks!

best judge is practice, but generally for shorter clubs it's + 8-10 yards and for longer clubs can be more depending on several other factors.

For a 30-40% lie, up to100 yds add about 6 yds power. Over 100 yds add 12 yds power.
