No worries Scott. Nothing wrong with your set up....as i was expecting it's them again!!! These people do not understand even the basics about resolution/aspect ratios/image and they run a game which makes millions every month!! I bow to them...

    Thanks Yiannis.

I have just tried the game in fullscreen (ingame options) in 1920 x 1200 resolution (ingame options) and it fits the screen perfectly.

I have tried the ingame fullscreen before and slated it, maybe wrongly, but I guess I was using resolutions other than the one that matches my monitors native resolution.

This seems to work quite nicely, although the taskbar and other apps are not accessible unless you minimize the game with the windows key or use the task switcher.

Ok Scott...here's a quiz for you. My monitor's native resolution is 1920 x 1080. If i set up the game at 1920 x 1080, 1366 x 768 fullscreen, i got all my frame covered. Right, right? Now..if i set up 1920 x 1200 in fullscreen mode, what do i get?

    Guess...

    Something bigger than your screen?

So when you have the game set to 1366 x 768 fullscreen, do you have a fairly fat black border around the game?

Have you had a look through your monitors settings, not your GPU settings. I have 8 buttons on the side of my monitor for various things.

You are correct!! I have all my frame covered when i SHOULDN'T!!! I should have black vertical borders on the left/right.

No, when i set up my game on any 16:9 aspect ratio (1920 x 1080, 1366 x 768, 1280 x 720 if they had it), i have all my frame covered as it should be. The only difference when you change resolution but keeping the same aspect ratio is the scaling of the image because you give more or less pixels to your monitor which has a fixed resolution and aspect ratio. So, in any other case when you give it to handle something different of its original aspect ratio (this is the case...i gave 1920 x 1200 to a monitor with fixed resolution 1920 x 1080), i should have black borders...instead i didn't have.

No, my monitor is not doing scaling of any kind.

    EDIT:

Why did you change your answer? Was correct the first time...lol, wrong but correct.

Scott if you have Windows 10 you can do what you told me to do. The virtual desktops works to perfection. I have 3 virtual desktops and the normal desktop for the game screen,

    Yiannis,

I have a feeling that the differences we are seeing between our setups may be caused by our monitor to PC connections. I believe you are using an HDMI connection, whereas I am using a display port (graphics card out) to DVI-D (monitor in).

I did try an HDMI connection a while back but I couldn't get my monitor to display its default resolution. Even an HDMI connection to a different PC resulted in the same issue and try as I might, I just couldn't correct it. My monitor is 13 years old.

I changed my answer because my test did something I didn't expect, and our setups behave differently to each other.

    Joe,

thanks for the virtual desktop reminder, but this sizing thing isn't a problem as such. I can get the size I want either by using the task manager, an AHK script or by poking about in the registry settings. What intrigues me is the fact that I can set things up the same as someone else, yet have a different result on my screen.
