    chicagohorn:

What is the best PC game alternative when flash ends. Realistic not cartoon game. I just don't like the new version.

I'd recommend The Golf Club 19. You can purchase it for 10 bucks on Steam and never have to pay for equipment or balls, so those 10$ are all you'll ever pay to play. Definitely much more fun than WGT: more realistic UEL mode (no "even lies" available); options to draw/fade; in general harder to master than WGT; a lot more courses; and biggest plus imo: it's not based on photographs like WGT, so the camera is free moving which gives you a lot more flexibility.

Don't think it has much of a multiplayer scene, but looking at your profile that probably wouldn't be a concern for you.

edit: The new version of the game (PGA Toúr 2k21) is on sale for half price on Steam right now, 30$ instead of 60$. Haven't played that one myself, but from what I saw it's not really any improvement on the older version.

TGC looks real good, indeed! They need to hire and motion capture a better player, though. The avatar swings like my old man! LOL

Also now that PS5 is released, I'm looking forward to the next Mingol series as well. The latest version was a little disappointing but It's always been fun to play.

I think this would be the one to go for, it's by far the most played version on Steam.  If anyone was going to get it I think that price is only there until 10am pacific on the 1st December.

I have all sorts of questions about my laptop, playing only with a mouse etc but I suppose for the price of a a sleeve and a pair of Magic Bus trousers I can risk it.

And yes, thank you Gepetto :-)

I bought TGC 2019 when it was on sale a few months ago (although I have since bought and play PGA Tour 2K21 which is the next version), and I played with the mouse at first. It can be done, but I found it really hard to control and I needed a big desk area for all the mouse movement it required.

Maybe I was doing it wrong but in the end I relented and stumped up for an Xbox One controller, which really transformed the playing experience. I had never played anything with one before so there was a bit of a learning curve, but it's definitely less frustrating playing that way.

One of the great things about the game is TGCTours, an external site which runs a very full season of events similar to the PGA Tour itself, with many divisions to be promoted/demoted from. However it now only operates on the 2K21 platform.

Much to investigate. My plan is to play both WGT and TGC next year.
