The iOS update touts the new feature of ‘Course Notebooks - Keep your notes handy for every course and every hole’. Finally an update that seems to bundle something useful instead of just moving buttons around and tweaking how they look. But where do I find the notebook when I’m playing? So far I don’t see anything available during coin games.

It does work in coin games
As said above, it does work in coin games. Although, I have seen some occasional glitches in coin games where it doesn't work on tie breakers, gives an error message.
