I don't usually complain about the meter - but

Playing the St Andrews 18 RG yesterday, wasn't doing great, -5 after the front nine, ten comes round and I have a good wind, too good in fact, my tee shot makes the green, and goes over the green 405 yards, but stops short of the rough and lands on the fairway.

Great, after nearly 1200 ranked rounds I get my diamond long drive award

Then the fun starts, the short par 3 my meter moves in increments of about 1cm and I miss badly, 36 yards right of the hole badly, this is a pretty wicked hole position at the best of times with the slope and I make bogey

Its not good the next few holes but I par them all, not dinging any though - then 15 it does it again, moves in about 1cm increments again and I hit heavy fescue 50-60 off the drive and I bogey

On 16 really bad meter and I must have missed the ding by about 2cm right and I end up OOB to the right - I get frustrated and withdraw

So why am I so dumb - because I'd got my diamond long drive and due to the frustration caused by the meter stutter I withdraw, and I forfeit my diamond award along with my withdraw.... duhhhh

I had meter issue in 500 credit ready go, made me withdraw by the par 5 14th.  But it wasn't usual meter skip, i would press on ding, see the action on meter as if i had pressed, but meter would carry on slowly until it reached the closest place you could get without it being a miss hit. Now that was annoying.  $1 ready go, isn't much of a deal, but having to withdraw a $5 round due to meter, takes the pi55.

And the joke was, it was smooth as silk for $1 ready go's and even challenge matches before & after.  Makes me think, if you don't play badly, then wgt insert the meter "issues" just to make sure you don't score well.LOL The closest they can get to a "real life" miss swing (slice) so it might be there just to act like a dud swing.

I feel your pain. First game this morning, back 9 at Kia. Start out bird-eagle, smoothest I have seen this game in awhile. Every shot did exactly what it was supposed to do based on proper aim and distance. I then asked myself, ok, when and where. Tee off on 12, wind 6 mph from 8 to 2. Make slight adjustment, click at ding, meter goes off the right side, ball oob. Double bogey, nbr 14 meter was a strobe light, ball in 60 rough on left of fairway-bogey. Even after 4 holes. Ground it out for a 1 under. Managed to keep the eagle on the books. Can't wait for the next round, like spinning the wheel of fortune. I just hope Vana will show a little mercy.
