I have 3 Vokey wedges, (64*(60yds), 60*(80yds), and 56*(100yds)). The 64* and 60* are extremely inconsistent when hitting full shots from the fairway. First not sure why the 60* wedge is always the default club for any shots 60 yds and under. Here are some examples of what I am experiencing:
A 62 yd shot from the fairway, 28 mph tailwind, up 8ft. Adjusted distance 58 yds. I used the 64* wedge, no spin, hit the ding and the ball landed 15 yds short. If I had used the 60* wedge instead of the 64* the ball would have landed shorter.
When I use the 64* wedge this is a common result, no matter the wind or elevation the ball generally lands 10-15 yds short.
Same result when using the 60*:
68 yd shot 10-15 mph sidewind, down 2 ft, ball lands 10 yds short.
I realize these shots could come up short if I was hitting into a headwind, especially the 64*, but why or how would a shot with tailwind of almost 30 mph come up short?
Any help would be appreciated.
