Until WGT comes up with a comprehensive postmortem after every shot -- frustration will stop me from going any further with this game.

Especially  --- what  extra is required to get out of a Sand Trap or Rough ?

And why did that perfect shot from the fairway --  (also adjusted correctly for wind and vertical distance) end up in the rough ?

First thing to burn into memory: DO NOT BELIEVE THE CADDY! (*)

Choose every shot from your growing experience, and (unrelated) mind the different green speeds!

(*) Most important, be reluctant to take chip and pitch shots!

    From 30+% bunkers: Only wedges

From 30+% rough: Only irons in punch mode!

Obviously it was not "perfect", and it was not "adjusted correctly".

This game like any worthwhile game takes a lot of time to learn. Having just started and never having played a single ranked round, you shouldn't expect to know how to play perfect. Read the forums for tips on how to play and how different equipment plays different. Spend hours and hours playing. Play a couple hundred ranked rounds. Ask good questions when you need advice, like "what did I do wrong".

Blaming the game for your errors and lack of knowledge is a sure way to never improve and never figure this game out.

That's the problem , you see.  There is no evidence given to prove or disprove that I made an error.

Actually most of the time the algorithm is understandable and I can easily agree with the results. But on the few occasions that I make a close to perfect shot and the result  is WAY off from anywhere near what should have happened -- it really appears that the software has made a mistake ( 10-20% of the "perfect shot" time).

Al I'm asking is for a comprehensive accounting of what the program did to put me in the rough and also put it in a LOG for reference after the play and also for WGT Feedback so they can fix their bugs !

    😂🤣

How many accounts do you have? The account your posting from is brand new. Do you really think you have mastered the game that quick? The evidence/ proof you made an error is your ball in the rough.

You show using starter clubs, very inaccurate as far as anything.  Lucky to hit the fairway sometimes with a dinged shot.  It takes practice with decent clubs(starters, are not).  Not always the best idea to aim for the pin from the rough.  Learn the different shots and what they can do, then come back and ask questions.  You show joining this month(might be just this account, but maybe you have others)where you have seen these things happen.

Also, take the time to search the forums and you just might find out what happens during a shot.  But then again, I believe I am wasting my time on a multi.

Come on Alan, for goodness sake!

Your frustrated as an absolute beginner ‘at this stage’, would you expect a beginner in real golf to do better. The game is unbelievably realistic, not perfect no, but then, neither is real golf, in facts it’s often referred to as “golf is not a game of perfect”, it’s about fewer errors than everyone else.

What you think of as a perfect shot is affected by distance/elevation/wind, into/against/ground lumps and bumps and MASSIVELY by starter equipment in terms of less precision, accuracy and the business end of encouraging you to buy better kit.

Anyone who’s played longer than you has gone through what you’re experiencing, it’s not punishment or anything bad, it’s the nature.

got over it, practise and only then you’ll know what we all mean, good luck and 😊

This game replicates REAL golf in a lot of ways. If you have played golf very much IRL you know how much  a bad swing impacts results. The ding line, like your swing, gives results that reflect how close you are to that line.  This is not to say that a ding will give perfect results every time. Bubba and Jason and Tiger don't always get the results they want or expect from a perfect swing. But they all practice and then practice some more. You need to do the same.
