JDGHOST: That does not explain the 59 posted by a "Pro" player that has no history at and all starter gear does it?
This is not meant as an argumentative reply just clarification of some points.
WGT can restrict or hide what they want to hide - a players scoring history often disappears if they haven't played any ranked rounds for 3 months or so for example, hidden tournaments are just that hidden from public view unless you find a link to it...
The individual has played and won similar event in the past, so they are not completely oblivious of how the game plays...
The tournament appears to have been unlimited entry - it also appears to have used SOTW clubs - or higher end equipment is my guess.
Give a reasonable player high end clubs off forward (pro) tees and they are likely driving and wedging the ball close if not driving some greens... you give people unlimited attempts they will shoot scores that seem implausible at first glance.
Remember, If you look at a players score in the etour SOTW tournaments and notice a player has starter gear in their bag - should we assume they played the etour with starter gear? Think it through...
It was fairly obvious what was going on without anything fishy looking -- provided you try to research or look into it.
As noted, if you delve into it, all the details are there to make sense of what was going on. If you want to play next time, just pony up the charitable donation and see about playing yourself. Although they may not want Tour Champs competing against the pros as it might discourage donations knowing there is no way they could compete against top players-- and the purpose was to raise money.
Geez- for all we know - WGT even sold mulligans similar to what is done in Charity Golf outings with your friends to raise extra money.
