  Does anyone know under what circumstances a hole-in-one will show up (or not) in the player's stats? I hit one during a showdown and still have zero aces on stats.

  if it is made in a coin game it will not count in your stats because coin games are played in the practice mode, Hole -in-ones made in Closer to the hole games are listed as aces in the close to the hole stats. In your case it was made in the showdown which is a coin game,

  The HIO stats are active in CTTH (as said above) and in ranked strokeplay mode only.

  Two different items in the awards list.
