As a developer/programmer, I can state that it is true (and always been that way for reasons) when building apps, web, etc. for multiple devices; the mobile phone rendition can be different and lack certain features. Not because it should, but it has more to do with scaling and screen real estate.
...and there is not much for the onscreen keyboard and viewing incoming/outgoing messages at once--especially in the fixed landscape perspective. The same is true for common messaging apps on a mobile phone where it is common in vertical position to see in/out messages easier.
...a tablet has more screen real estate and scales to the same "safe-zone" common 16:9 (1024x768, 1920x1080) ratio.
Most PC's are not touchscreen and lack features that mobile devices have like touching, tapping, and swiping.
Maybe, and perhaps, since this is a RPG-like game; WGT will adapt in the future to enabling connected users (when desired) in matches to communicate via chat during game play through headsets;
- adding the same personal touch and discussions held in real world golfing during rounds.
- ability to vocally compliment one another on shots
- hear the anxiety of frustration when one is trapped in a deep bunker or thick brush
- and of course the guidelines of etiquette applies
It would definitely be "next level" and make WGT more interesting than it already is
AND IT IS A SOLUTION THAT PROVIDES THE SAME LEVEL OF COMMUNICATION on all devices :)
See, happy thoughts for all and a courtesy HELLO WORLD to WGT devs.
