    believerforsure:

I don't know why WGT wants to be obtuse on this subject

If it says "one time out remaining" then you should get one more time out.

It's pretty simple, isn't it ?  Just as you stated

I would argue just the opposite.  I would like to see only one timeout for the entire game.  I play against a lot of players who are painfully slow.  They stand over a tee box shot for 40 seconds preparing to hit a fairway big enough to land a 747 or 40 seconds to hit a tw0 foot putt.  Pick up the pace or forfeit!

You guys ever consider that these 'slow' players may be disabled?

    Have some patience fellas.

Here's an idea for those that want a fast game......set up your own game with what ever timer you want. Easey Peasey lemon squeezy. HNY

I know they won't even read this but what the heck!...

The solution is very simple : apply a turn-switching timer (also called toggle timing) for the entire matchplay, just like in chess.

For instance, whether it’s a par 3, par 4, or par 5, each player must complete everything from the tee shot to holing out within let's say... 2 or max 3 minutes.

This will eliminate confusions about timeout numbers and, more importantly, will take care of those idiots who intentionally play slow on each shot just to annoy you.

Another benefit of this approach is that you can manage your time strategically, allocating it based on the importance or difficulty of each shot within the overall time limit, maximizing your own time usage without making your opponent wait unnecessarily long on each shot.
