Every game allows for two disconnects per player - so disconnect totally (you will have five minutes to reconnect unless other players also quit).
In that five minutes, I could clear my history file (cache) or in the case of chrome, close out entirely (to satisfy my resident virus scanner). Then, reconnect and go right to new game page where message that you still have an open game appears. Click correctly to get back into that game and don't forget to explain to other players what happened, unless it's your turn and the countdown is moving - where you should size up and take the shot and THEN explain.
But third disconnect (even if it's WGT's fault), and you're out!
It is known that frozen blank or blue screen is WGT issue.
If playing in a free game, please avoid letting the counter hit 00, that also sounds like a WGT issue.
I have also discovered that defragging each day (the 1st one can take a lot of time if you haven't done it recently) helps your system stay more efficient. I use the free source ultra-defrag (current version 5.0.0) daily.
I also disk optimize daily, and clear history before closing out of google chrome entirely, then reopening it (to clear unsaved cached files from RAM). All these steps have kept me virtually connection delay and meter jumping free
But the freeze up affects me like anyone else, proving (to me) that it is a WGT issue.
One last thing - even when I freeze up, my chat still works, so I advise my fellow golfers that I froze up and would be reconnecting very shortly - trust me - they appreciate that.
