Okay, I didn't do well in physics class,...here's ny conundrum.......I have a 5 foot putt....3" downhill...( as indicated by green triangle)....I putt the ball and it rolls by the hole 12 ",........now I have a 1 foot putt...correct???   Correct...now in my mind, it ought to be a 1 foot putt...indicated by a green triangle as UPHILL...correct??

However....it stills shows "downhill 3" ,....So if I  go by the indicator,..there's a good likelihood that the ball ewill hang on the lip...."short!!"

If you have a 1ft putt you dont have to bother about breaks. Just whack it with 3ft of power and it's in...

Apparently many of the holes on WGT are put in craters on the greens. So when you're within 5 feet it's always downhill. lol

I don't even pay attention to up or downhill when I'm within 3 feet or so. Unless it's on Oakmont tourney greens with 3 feet of break in the 3 foot putt. Just ram it in the hole. Don't baby those 5 foot and under putts.

There are a few places, especially on Oakmont that it seems you have a downhill putt and if you knock if a few feet by you still have a downhill putt.

Good point about the short putts and even on the longer ones.  In real golf I tend to die the ball at the hole but on a short putt (5 feet and less on WGT) just ram it in.  If you hit it 40% harder than you need that only equates to going 2 feet by.

Thanks for all the input....I do like to "whack" the short ones in the ctr of the hole  what you guys recommend....but I was simply looking to see if anyone else was aware of the "always down" triangle!!

    Tks again

It would suggest the hole is cut in a gully.   Just because it is down one way, it is not safe to assume it will be up coming back!
