a few of the new R11 clubs have bugs on certain hole. for one the 8th hole at beth page when hitting the the 180 6 iron will go 206 yards, 46 yards over is not realistic.   The 135 9 iron when hit goes 140 yards up hill on most holes into the wind and short on other holes. one should have a reasonable expectation that these higher priced clubs would be just a little more precise than what we are seeing. it appears that the clubs are mediocre at best.  i sold my 2.0 before i should have.

Yep Ray, i know u well enough to say that ur shots are pretty precise :). I agree without playing with them that is very unrealistic. I'm just glad i held on to my 2.0's.

46 yards over is not realistic.

It is when you have the Legend Callaway Z balls, downhill 26ft, more spin (which means more carry on downhill holes, which means more distance) with the R11 irons and a tailwind if you had one.

As for the rest, normal deviation.

    Just a thought

Don't expect a 100 yard club to go 100 ... with Callaways .. it goes further ... but with Free balls .. it will go 100.   I was told a long time ago that all of the club distances given are done with the free WGT balls.    Using Callaways, or any of the other balls which add distance will alter the difference ... as will (which I'm sure you know) spin, wind, elevation changes, etc.

And I do believe it is just an average distance per club...

This past weekend I played what should be my last real game of the year......it was 36 degrees Fahrenheit,  each shot was atleast a club longer due to the temp,  one shot with a little tailwind, my 8 iron,  which was only going about 130yds all day, on this one hole went 155'ish yards.   Checked with skycaddie.  Could hardly believe it lol.  I was 140 to the center of green and my third shot was a pitch from past the green lol.

    just sayin

Proslice isn't the last wheel on the carriage, he knows this game quite well even if he does not post here much.

Sometimes I find the r11 quirky to say the least and the jury is still out on these in my view - not an authoritative one I know - but I am not sure whether I have made a good investment in these clubs yet. Time will tell.

hpurey, the same can be said for other clubs, and with the 2.0's proslice was quite deadly.

    Just sayin...

Same hole-195 away with an 11 wind @2 o'clock-there's no way a 180 yard 6i should sail 200+ yards choked. Well it did.  IDK if it's the irons but I see a few oddities once in a while too.

I've thrown my R11's in the bin, they are so much hit and miss, some times you will get the extra yardages from cally's on the 120 & 135 iron, some times you don't and they come up well short, and with the faster meter and meant to be more forgiving than burners? seem the same at best.  My game is just the same with burners so gone back to them for the slower meter, and less chance of clubs coming up short due to not having the extra yardage you expect.  Total waste of $$.  (but i do play with them occasionally in challenge matches just to stop the dust collecting on them.lol)

here's a rough guide to burners with extra yardages' due to standard cally's, and how they are with spin:

Club                            xtra yardage  with cally (Z)               with full backspin

    125 Pw                                131                                                122 (123 sometimes)

    135                                        141                                               132

    145                                         152                                              142

    160                                         168                                               157

    175                                          185                                               172

    190                                           200                                               187

    205                                           215                                                203

    220                                           235 (some holes its shorter)   217

    R11's

    120                                         125 if your lucky                            116

    135                                          140 if your lucky                            131

    150                                           157                                                 146

    165                                           173                                                 161

    180                                           189                                                 176

    195                                            205                                                 191

    210                                             222                                                 206

    225                                             235/240                                         221

These are all from fairway, you need to add a couple of yards distance wise from the tee

By messing around with half back spin you can also get your clubs i.e 190 iron will be 195 with half back spin.  Just takes time to understand what effect half spin has on certain irons. If you had 190 yard approach, full back spin on 190 iron is 187 yards, but if you give say a bit less back spin than full, you can get the iron to be 190 yards.  (al this is with standard cally's)
